On July 13, 2007, Max Blumenthal and videographer Thomas Shomaker visited the College Republican National Convention, located at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. Blumenthal interviewed at least 20 college Republicans about the war in Iraq. These college Republicans enthusiastically supported the Bush administration's war in Iraq, but when asked by Blumenthal if they were planning to serve their country in Iraq, these same enthusiastic college Republican supporters of the war gave excuses as to why they couldn't serve in the military for a cause they support. Blumenthal concludes with this excellent comment from his blog:
Like the current Republican leaders who skipped out on Vietnam, the GOP’s next generation would rather cheerlead from the sidelines for the war in Iraq while other, less privileged young men and women fight and die.
It is just sickening to watch these young Americans become brainwashed by such hypocrisy. From YouTube:
