This is a fun little Schoolhouse Rock song telling us that there are going to be Fireworks on the Fourth of July. Not only does the song teach us about our country's independence, but it also provides us with the first sentence in the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence. Although not as catchy as the Schoolhouse Rock "Preamble" to the Constitution, it is still fun to watch. Music and lyrics are by Lynn Ahrens, while the song is performed by Grady Tate. From YouTube:
We hold these truths to be self-evident,
That all men are created equal
And that they are endowed by their creator
With certain inalienable rights,
That among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
