This is a wonderful classic. It is the first Peabody's Improbable History cartoon. As any Gen-Xer would know, Peabody's Improbable History was a short cartoon segment that appeared in the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. Mr. Peabody was a genius dog who adopted an orphan boy Sherman to be his companion--talk about a twist on a "boy and his dog" here. Mr. Peabody invented the WAYBACK machine, which was a time machine that allowed Mr. Peabody and Sherman to travel back into time to witness historical events. However, there would always be something wrong with the event, and it would be up to Mr. Peabody and Sherman to help fix the event to its historical accuracy. This is the first Mr. Peabody cartoon, which introduces how Mr. Peabody adopted Sherman, and created the WAYBACK machine for our heroes to embark on their wacky adventures. From YouTube:
